TPB Roadshow: Four Cities, One Eye-Opening Lesson About the Power of Real Connections

What happens when you stop sending emails and start sitting across the table?

You get conversations that last longer than a handshake.

You get ideas that never make it into a brochure.

You get partnerships that begin with, “Tell me what’s actually happening in your market.”

And sometimes, you get on a flight four times in one month.

Delhi. Mumbai. Ahmedabad. Lucknow.

Four cities. Four rooms. Countless conversations.

And one TPB Roadshow journey that reminded us of something the travel industry can never afford to forget:

Business is built by people — not inboxes.

At AndEverywhere, we didn’t just attend the TPB Roadshow.

We showed up to listen, connect, exchange ideas and build what comes next.

The TPB Roadshow Wasn’t About Being Seen. It Was About Being Heard.

Let’s be honest.

Travel trade events can easily become a familiar cycle:

A booth.

A brochure.

A handshake.

A business card.

A quick photograph.

Then everyone goes home.

But that’s not where meaningful business happens.

The real value of a travel industry roadshow begins when the formal introductions end.

It’s the conversation with a travel agent who’s been in the industry for years and tells you what customers are asking for today.

It’s the unexpected question that challenges your assumptions.

It’s the idea exchanged over a cup of chai.

It’s the person you meet for five minutes — and remember weeks later.

That’s what we were looking for across all four TPB Roadshow stops.

Not just visibility.

Real connection.

Delhi: Where the Conversations Started Fast

Delhi doesn’t really believe in wasting time.

Neither did we.

Our first stop brought together travel agents, tour operators and tourism professionals ready to talk business, destinations and opportunities.

The conversations moved quickly.

The questions were direct.

The ideas kept coming.

And what started as introductions quickly became something more meaningful — an opportunity to understand what travel professionals actually need from their partners.

Delhi opened the roadshow.

And it set the tone for everything that followed.

Mumbai: When Energy Turns Into Opportunity

Then came Mumbai.

Different city.

Different rhythm.

Same purpose.

Mumbai brought its own energy into the room, with travel trade partners exchanging ideas, asking questions and exploring opportunities.

And this is where roadshows become particularly valuable.

Because you don’t just hear what people want.

You begin to understand why they want it.

That distinction matters.

For a B2B travel company, understanding the market isn’t simply about knowing which destination is trending.

It’s about understanding the people selling those destinations.

Their customers.

Their challenges.

Their expectations.

Their opportunities.

And that conversation is far more valuable than any brochure.

Ahmedabad: Questions That Make You Think

Ahmedabad brought thoughtful conversations and sharp questions.

And honestly, those are the conversations we value most.

Because good questions don’t just provide answers.

They make you think differently.

The discussions gave us a closer look at what travel professionals expect from their partners — from product knowledge and destination expertise to responsiveness, flexibility and reliability.

For a DMC and B2B travel company, this kind of feedback is invaluable.

It helps us look beyond what we offer and focus on how we can offer it better.

Because the travel industry doesn’t stand still.

Neither should the people working in it.

Lucknow: Where Hospitality Became the Common Language

Our final stop was Lucknow.

And perhaps it was fitting that the roadshow ended in a city so closely associated with hospitality.

The conversations here once again demonstrated that travel is ultimately a people business.

Rates matter.

Itineraries matter.

Destinations matter.

But trust matters most.

A travel agent isn’t simply recommending a holiday.

They are putting their credibility behind that recommendation.

That makes the relationship between a travel agent and their DMC far more important than a simple transaction.

Strong partnerships are built on confidence — and confidence starts with connection.

The Photos Show the Smiles. They Don’t Show the Story.

Here’s something we’ve learned from every roadshow.

The photographs are great.

The handshakes look good.

The group pictures capture the atmosphere.

But they tell only a fraction of the story.

A camera can capture a smile.

It can’t capture the conversation that happened five minutes before it.

It can capture a handshake.

It can’t capture the idea exchanged during that handshake.

It can capture a room full of people.

It can’t capture the partnership that may come out of that room months later.

That’s the real story of the TPB Roadshow.

Not the photographs.

The conversations behind them.

Why Travel Roadshows Still Matter in a Digital-First World

The changing scale of travel also makes market understanding increasingly important. India’s Ministry of Tourism publishes official data covering inbound, outbound and domestic tourism, providing valuable insights into the country’s evolving travel landscape.

We live in an industry where almost everything can happen online.

Emails.

WhatsApp messages.

Video calls.

Digital brochures.

Online meetings.

So why travel hundreds of kilometres for a roadshow?

Because relationships don’t always scale digitally.

A roadshow creates something different.

It puts people in the same room.

It allows questions to become conversations.

Conversations to become ideas.

And ideas to become opportunities.

For travel agents and DMCs, this face-to-face connection can be especially valuable.

Because the travel business isn’t just transactional.

It’s relational.

People do business with people they trust.

And trust becomes easier to build when there’s a person behind the email address.

Four Cities. One Powerful Takeaway.

Delhi taught us the value of speed.

Mumbai reminded us what energy can create.

Ahmedabad challenged us with thoughtful questions.

Lucknow reinforced the importance of hospitality.

Different cities.

Different conversations.

Different perspectives.

But one common thread:

The travel industry still wants to connect.

Not just collect business cards.

Not just exchange brochures.

Not just take photographs.

Connect.

And that’s exactly what we wanted from the TPB Roadshow.

The Roadshow Wasn’t the Destination. It Was the Starting Point.

At AndEverywhere, we believe travel is about going beyond destinations.

It’s about connecting people, businesses and possibilities.

The TPB Roadshow gave us the opportunity to do exactly that — across four cities and countless conversations.

So, to everyone who met us in Delhi, Mumbai, Ahmedabad or Lucknow:

Thank you for the conversation.

Thank you for the questions.

Thank you for the ideas.

And most importantly, thank you for reminding us why this industry is built on something no technology can replace:

People.

Because the best partnerships don’t begin with a contract.

They don’t begin with a quotation.

They don’t even begin with a booking.

They begin with a conversation.

And sometimes, one conversation can take you everywhere.

Were You Part of the TPB Roadshow?

Maybe we met in Delhi, Mumbai, Ahmedabad or Lucknow.

Maybe we had a five-minute conversation.

Maybe we discussed a destination.

Maybe we exchanged a business card.

Or maybe we simply said hello.

Tell us where we met.

What conversation stayed with you?

What idea are you still thinking about?

Drop a comment, share your experience or tag someone you met along the way.

And if you missed this edition of the roadshow…

Keep watching.

Because four cities were just one chapter.

We’re not done traveling yet.
